Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about window film — from choosing the right product to aftercare and installation.

Window film is a thin layer applied to glass to improve privacy, safety, solar control, or appearance. It can reduce glare, improve security, enhance privacy, and upgrade the look of your windows without replacing the glass.
Privacy films such as frosted or one-way mirror films reduce visibility through glass while still allowing natural light to pass through. Different films provide different levels of privacy depending on your needs.
Yes — most window films slightly reduce natural light depending on the type. Frosted films allow high light transmission, while solar and mirror films reduce more light along with heat and glare.
One-way mirror (reflective) film provides daytime privacy by reflecting external light. It works when the outside is brighter than the inside. At night, when interior lights are on and the outside is darker, the effect reverses — so it does not provide privacy after dark. For round-the-clock privacy, frosted film is a better choice.
Most window films are compatible with standard single and double-glazed glass. Some darker or highly reflective films may not be suitable for certain types of double glazing due to heat build-up risk. Our team will assess your glass type before recommending the appropriate film.
No. Window film is durable and long-lasting but can be removed or replaced without damaging the glass.
We offer a comprehensive range including: frosted/privacy film, one-way mirror film, solar control & heat reduction film, safety & security film, UV & anti-fade film, decorative & branding film, glass manifestations, window graphics, specialist films, and wall graphics.
Our UV protection films can block up to 99% of harmful ultraviolet rays. This significantly reduces fading of furniture, flooring, artwork, and fabrics while also protecting occupants from UV-related skin damage.
Not necessarily. Solar control films are engineered to reduce heat and glare while preserving high levels of visible light transmission. The right film depends on your glass type and requirements — our team will recommend the best option to balance comfort and natural light.
Safety & security film does not make glass unbreakable, but it holds shattered glass together on impact, significantly reducing the risk of injury from flying shards and making forced entry much harder. It is certified to relevant safety standards and is suitable for both homes and commercial premises.
Installation time varies based on the number of windows and film type. A typical residential job can take as little as a couple of hours; larger commercial projects may span a full day or more. We'll give you a realistic time estimate at the quoting stage and schedule at a time that suits you to minimise disruption.
When installed correctly by a professional, window film will not damage glass or frames. Our team uses industry-best tools and precision application techniques. Film is applied to the interior surface and can be removed without leaving permanent marks if ever required.
After installation, film requires a curing period of typically 2–4 weeks depending on climate and film type. During this time, you may notice small water bubbles or a slight haze — this is completely normal and will disappear as the adhesive fully bonds to the glass.

Frosted privacy film is the most popular choice for bathrooms and door panels. It creates an elegant, etched-glass look that allows natural light through while preventing visibility from outside. We offer a range of frosted patterns and opacities to suit different styles.
Yes — solar control film is highly effective for sunrooms and conservatories. It reduces heat gain by blocking infrared radiation while retaining natural light, making your space comfortable year-round without the need for expensive air conditioning.
Absolutely. UV-blocking film blocks up to 99% of UV rays, which are the primary cause of fading in furniture, carpets, curtains, and artwork. Combined with heat reduction, the film significantly extends the life of your interior furnishings.

Yes. We offer glass manifestations, custom window graphics, and wall graphics tailored to your brand. Provide us with your artwork and we'll handle the rest.
Yes. By reducing solar heat gain through glass, solar control film lowers the demand on air conditioning and cooling systems. Many commercial clients see a measurable reduction in energy costs, particularly in south- and west-facing offices with large glazed areas.

Applying window film is a manageable DIY task with the right preparation. The key steps are thoroughly cleaning the glass, applying the film wet (using soapy water), and smoothing out air bubbles with a squeegee. We recommend watching installation guidance videos before you start. For best results on large or complex windows, professional installation is always an option.
Measure the width and height of the glass panel (not the frame) in millimetres. If you have multiple panes within one window frame, measure each pane individually. It's good practice to add a few millimetres to each dimension — film can be trimmed after application for a perfect fit.
